Priyamani Iyer aka Priyamani was born in Palakkad, Kerala. She moved to bengaluru along with her family in her childhood. Her schooling was all done in bengaluru. After her 12th grade Priyamani started modeling.

It was legendary kollywood director Bharatiraja gave Priyamani her first break into movies. The movie was a flop at the box office. She then shifted into malayalam movies and acted in a couple of them before her first Tollywood break arrived.

Actress Priyamani debut tollywood movie was Evare Ithagadu and it was a disaster at the box office. The hero of the movie was also a debut artiste.
Her re-entry into telugu movies was through Pellaina Kotthalo with Jagapathi Babu. It did well at the box office and her character in the movie was applauded.
