Riya Dev Verma aka Riya Sen was born in Kolkata, India. She is daughter of former actress Moon Moon Sen and Bharat Dev Verma who belongs to the royal family of Tripura.
Riya spent most of her childhood in Kolkata. She has completed a course in fashion designing from NIFT. Her costumes in films is mostly designed by herself. She keeps a passion of designing jewelery.
Riya Sen has multiple facets. She is an actress, a model and a designer. She had multiple things happening in life at a time. She started her career as a child artiste, did a couple of movies. She then appeared in a Music VIdeo of Falguni Phatak in the song "yaad piya ki aane lage". This song was very famous at that time and it helped Riya in starting a career in Modeling. She has modeled for a lot of designers and has appeared in Television ads as she endorsed big brands.
Actress Riya's career as an actress also went on parallel y. Though she acted in a couple of Kollywood Movies, her first commercial success was Style directed by N.Chandra. This movie was a huge hit at the box office and the character she played fetched the nick name sexy siren.
Actress Riya Sen then went on to act in Malayalam in a movie Ananthabhadram directed by Santosh Sivan. This movie was a huge hit and it also bagged 5 different awards that year.
Riya is making her debut in a Telugu Movie Nenu Meeku Telusa along side Manchu Manoj. The movie is under production and yet to release.
She has acted in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, English and now Telugu.
